Baltimore Album Class meets last Tuesday of every month for a year First Class begins July 26, 2011 from 4 to 7 p.m. Must take all classes Store Instructor: Judy Shapiro Fee: $160 Do you fear appliqué? Fear appliqué no more! Come and discover the secrets of learning hand appliqué, putting your worst fears aside. This is a year long opportunity to meet with new and old friends on this journey. Baltimore Album quilts began in Baltimore in 1840. They were a form of journaling for women at that time. They are designed around a specific list of symbols which the student will learn. All hand appliqué techniques will be learned in this year long session. There will be homework. Quilt will probably not be completed, but all information will be available to finish. Although Judy will be teaching the traditional Baltimore Album design, there will be an opportunity to consult with her to design your own quilt block. In addition, we will study writing on fabric as they did in 1840. Just bring sharp scissors for the first class. No other supplies needed for the first class. Supply list will be provided in the first session.
